Milkshake

Kelis resurfaced last night at the Mulberry party held on the rooftop of Milk Studios in NYC, where she performed her hit song "Milkshake".  I absolutely love her and her edgy style is phenomenal.  Hopefully we'll be seeing more of her antics in the near future.

Sex and the City 2

Sex and the City is back!!!  The girls all dazzled the red carpet at last night's premiere of Sex and the City 2 at Radio City Music Hall in NYC.  The anticipation is building. . . I can't wait for Friday! See you there :-)

Hot (Pants) or Not

I pride myself on being an early adopter of the latest trends (sort of).  But the verdict is still out on this one.  I've actually seen this look in the club and I'm not quite sure if EXO or The City would be the appropriate venue for this type of ensemble (might wanna take that elsewhere, if you catch my drift).  But who knows, maybe if you have the physique of a young Naomi Campbell, you may be able to pull it off???  Anything is possible, I guess.

Emilio Pucci studded leather cut out sandal, $1150. Available at Net-a-Porter.com

I love these shoes so much that I'm pretty sure I would do something illegal to get them
. . .that is all.

The Fine White Line

As I mentioned in my About Me page, I created this blog as an extension of the conversations I have with my girlfriends . . . this post is no exception.  So, in lieu of this morning's conversation: Today's Topic: WHITE SHOES!!! As the summer rapidly approaches, we will all witness an array of violations concerning this delicate matter, how dreadful!  But who says you can't  rock a fabulous white shoe? Here's a few examples of how it can and should be done.

The BLACK Report: A Romantic Invasion

Words by Corey Black
Being a spoken word artist in St. Louis, there is a vast assortment of open mics to partake in. I try my best not to over saturate myself and indulge too much, just so I don't wear out a good thing. Last night SoulStage invaded Shop Poetry at The Label, but that wasn't the only invasion that occurred that evening. Sitting on the patio underneath a moon lit sky, I realized that love had taken over. The love of art. The love of music. The love of romance. The ambiance was surreal. From the red lamps that anchored the bar area, to the faint breeze that danced across the canopy of the gazebo. Everything just felt right. In a secluded corner of the deck, I realized the importance of romance in a relationship, and how it should constantly play its role. Who knew a humid night in Downtown St. Louis could be so sultry?

Hot Coifs: Go Big or Go Home!

On both the runways of New York's Fashion Week and in the Delmar Loop alike, big hair is the fab look for Summer 2010.  Whether your style is wash and go, romantic, or bohemian chic, bigger is most definitely better.  Celebrities like Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Kelly Rowland show you how its done with their springy spirals.

Even first lady Michelle Obama has hopped on the big hair bandwagon!

Curve Appeal

To my delight, two of my favorite websites, ASOS and Forever 21 have both added fabulous, new Extended Sizes lines!!!  No more are the days where our plus sized Queens only have frumpy frocks to choose from.  Stylish looks from both websites are trendy and current without compromising edginess, sophistication, or quality.  There's definitely a need for this, and I'm glad retailers are finally starting to pay attention.  Forever 21's FAITH 21 line offers more youthful, fresh designs,

whereas ASOS's Curve features more polished, timeless classics.  Geared towards the contemporary consumer, each website boasts a wide selection of cardigans, jeans, leggings, tops, dresses, skirts, shorts and outerwear with a collection ranging from casual daywear looks to club gear with major sex appeal.   All prices are extremely affordable with prices starting at $19.80 and up.

SweetHoneyDip ChocolateBrownSugah Sea Salt Scrub - Carol's Daughter

SweetHoneyDip ChocolateBrownSugah Sea Salt Scrub - Carol's Daughter

As a strong believer in exfoliation, and healthy skin care in general, I have tried dozens of scrubs to maintain soft, youthful skin. I was totally caught off guard when I received this scrub as a gift last year. Upon first whiff I had to resist the urge to taste this chocolatey concoction of chocolate, honey and sweet vanilla bean. The brown sugar crystals polishes away dry, dull skin while the natural oils penetrate and moisturize. This scub is a definite must have for revealing beautiful summer skin.  This delightful treat can be purchased at Carol's Daughter or Amazon for $34.
