Melodies by MJB
Anyone that knows me knows that Mary J. Blige is one of my all time favorite singers. Not only because of her songs that have touched our souls for years, but because her style is fierce! One of her staple wardrobe pieces is a pair of stand out shades, so its no surprise that she has introduced her own line of sunglasses called Melodies by MJB. For more information on how you can get your pair, visit www.melodiesbymjb.com.
Shoegasm: Nicholas Kirkwood
Step your game up ladies! I guarantee you that Nicholas Kirkwood will be the LouboutinBlahnikChoo of the future. I'll admit, I've clearly been sleeping when it comes to this fab new designer. I actually had never heard of Nicholas Kirkwood until the internet started buzzing about Sarah Jessica Parker being seen wearing his beautiful architecturally designed goods. But I'm so glad I did! I'm in LOVE!!! I'll be saving up my nickels to get me a pair asap.

The BLACK Report: Teresa Jenee: Live @ Lola
Words by Corey Black
My first memory of hearing Teresa Jenee sing was when I was in the 2nd grade. She sang Bette Midler's "The Wind Beneath My Wings" at the school talent show. I can still remember the white dress she wore and the three fluffy ponytails in her hair. Fast forward some twenty plus years, and I am still hearing her voice. I am still remembering her outfits. I am still remember her hair. Her voice gets stronger and her presence more memorable every time she steps on stage. With this growth, more and more doors are opening up for this North St. Louis native. She was nominated for two 2010 Riverfront Times Awards (click here to vote) and at her performance at the RFT Music Showcase at Lola, it was evident why she was considered as a nominee. I can show you better than I can tell you.

MINX St. Louis
We've all seen this hot new trend on celebrities like Beyonce, Latoya Luckett, and Eve. Now you can get the same VIP nail treatment right here in town at Minx St. Louis. Minx is a solid nail covering that adheres to the nail with heat. It takes 20-30 minutes to apply and there's no drying time! The application lasts 1-3 weeks and doesn't chip like nail polish. Services offered include manicures, pedicures, and even Minx parties!!!
Minx is offered in hundreds of colors and designs and Minx St. Louis owner and trained Minx expert Mel, offers a wide array of styles to choose from. I love the funky designs and can't wait to go back for my leopard print Minx pedicure. St. Louis Minx makes this high end service affordable for everyday women. For repeat customers your 5th set of Minx is always free and coming up for the month of July, bring a friend and get half off! Check her out online at minxstlouis.com, become a fan on Facebook, or call 314.583.8236 to make an appointment to get Minx'd now!!!
Shukuru2
The buzz is heating up for St. Louis' own fashion label, Shukuru 2. Born and raised in St. Louis, founder and designer Shukuru Bilal began designing womens' clothing over 20 years ago. Recently her eclectic, yet feminine designs have been featured in Delux magazine as well as the St. Louis American newspaper. Currently she does custom designs by appointment and her clothing line can be found at Lee J. boutique downtown on Washington Avenue, with plans to expand into other local boutiques.
So what's next for Shukuru? She has several fashion shows lined up in the near future as well as a new company specializing in personal shopping/stylist services for professional women. For more information about this emerging talent, please visit her website http://www.shukuru2.com/ or contact her at shukuru2@gmail.com.

SociaLife: Memorial Day Weekend
If you're still saying there's nothing to do in St. Louis, clearly you must live in a cave. I'm typically the stay at home type, but this weekend was filled with all sorts of fun stuff to do.
The bestie and I started the weekend off right with Sex and the City 2 at the beautiful Moolah Theatre. I will admit, I was a tad bit extra with the plunging neckline and Manolo Blahniks just to go see a movie, but for Carrie Bradshaw and the girls, I think I get a pass.
Marci and I at the Moolah Theatre
Quality time at the pool with my lil man :-)
Had a awesome time with my "Sweet Face" at the Jill Scott/Maxwell Concert . . .
. . .followed by a stop at S.L.U.M Fest.
Corey and Tef Poe getting it in at S.L.U.M.Fest
And to finish the weekend off (and officially start the summer),
